Project to develop guidelines for implementation of evidence-based digital health intervention to support life-long management of blood pressure (granted by Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development: AMED)
Digital healthcare technology has rapidly been spreading throughout the globe since COVID-19 pandemic. However, only a fraction of digital device is backed up with evidence. Under the initiative of The Japanese Society of Hypertension, we have launched a project to develop guidelines for implementation of evidence-based digital health intervention to support life-long management of blood pressure.

FESTA (Fukuoka Epidemiological Study of Atherosclerosis)
FESTA is a large longitudinal study in Japanese adults aged 40 and over who undergo health checkups in Fukuoka prefecture and give written informed consent prior to enrollment. This aims to identify risk factors and protective factors for atherosclerosis and shed new insights into the primary prevention of arteriosclerosis in the super-aged society.

CRAFT (Cardiovascular Risk reduction in Atrial Fibrillation Trial)
Atrial fibrillation is a strong risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, and a cause of rising medical costs and a reduction in healthy life expectancy. The number of cases of atrial fibrillation is expected to remarkably increase with population aging in Japan, effective prevention and treatment of atrial fibrillation is required for prevention of cerebrovascular diseases.

CRAFT is an investigator-initiated, international collaborative randomized trial which aims to compare the effects of intensive blood pressure-lowering treatment (target home systolic blood pressure < 120 mmHg) with less-intensive treatment for prevention of cardiovascular diseases and cerebral hemorrhage under anticoagulant therapy for atrial fibrillation.

ISSA-CKD (Iki epidemiological Study of atheroSclerosis And Chronic Kidney Disease)
In Iki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, the percentages of end-stage renal diseases and patients requiring nursing care have been reported to be higher than any other cities in the prefecture. ISSA-CKD aims to contribute to prevention for end-stage renal disease using annual health checkup data, and prevention for lifestyle diseases by identifying area-specific problems and planning successful intervention strategies.

F-CREATE (Fukuoka University Comprehensive Risk Evaluation of Atrial fibrillation using claims daTabasE)
Atrial fibrillation therapy has dramatically changed with novel oral anticoagulants, however, stroke risk based on real-world data in patients with atrial fibrillation has not been fully assessed in Japan. F-CREATE will provide new evidence on risk evaluation for atrial fibrillation.

INFLUENCE (INFLUENza vaccination for CancEr)
Cancers, though not all, are increasingly becoming chronic illness with the recent advances in treatment of them. Vaccination is a preventive strategy for infectious diseases but whether vaccines are also effective in patients with cancer has not been clarified. INFLUENCE aims to evaluate vaccine effectiveness, especially influenza vaccine effectiveness, in patients with cancer.
